The funds for this Scholarship are provided by the Kia Ora Foundation, a non-profit organisation set up by Ms. Annette Campbell-White for educational purposes for New Zealand students.The purpose of the Scholarship is to provide funds to encourage professional musical development among New Zealand students and teachers.
The Scholarship can be offered in two categories.
Category A:
To enable a senior performance student or teacher of musical performance, to travel overseas to attend master classes, to audition for entry to a music school, or for professional development.
Applicants will be New Zealand citizens who are:
and who can provide supporting evidence of excellence in musical performance and achievement.
Category B:
To assist an artist of international renown to travel to New Zealand to hold a master class. The teacher travelling to New Zealand should be of such international repute that, it is expected, he/she would attract a good number of music students from around New Zealand to his/her classes. It is expected the Scholarship will alternate from one university centre to another each year and would vary between disciplines (i.e. strings, woodwind, voice).
Up to $10,000 per annum.
One scholarship is awarded annually.
